Agatha Raisin is a bright and lovely mystery comedy. There are so many grimy crime shows out there, and Agatha is a welcome change. The third season has finally dropped with a new episode on Acorn TV today so I am celebrating with the best of double features: Season 2 Episode 1 Wizard of Evesham (My absolute favorite and the inspiration for this cosplay) and the new Agatha Raisin and the Haunted House.
Lady Halloween Cosplay: Evie Carnahan from The Mummy
Dress, Chiffon Wrap (Sizes 12-24), Chiffon Maxi Wrap (Sizes 0-14), Oval Locket, Boots
Lady Halloween Cosplay: Barbara Novak from Down with Love
Dress, Belt, Shoes, Landline Phone, Champagne Pink Chocolate
This is one of the most “has everything” movies that I have ever seen. Does it help to grow up on 1960s sex comedies? Yes, this is such a lush love letter to the era. If you know nothing of suggestive Doris Day bubble bath phone calls and are just a romantic comedy fan, you will still love this movie. Not as much, but still.
Lady Cosplay: Ms. Taylor from Derry Girls
Jacket, Skirt, Button up Shirt, Tights, Heels, Brooch, Glasses, Enamel Mug
The first episode of the second season smacks you right back in the world of Derry Girls. The protestant version of Sister Michael (Siobhan McSweeney) joins her with a differing wardrobe but a perfectly similar disposition. They sync up and are such a joy to watch and make you hope that one day you will be just like them. Caoimhe Farren as Ms. Taylor has such a “bam powerful I don’t care” outfit so of course I had to copy it as best I could.
